This popular tour, run by the ORNC showcases the many films which have used this UNESCO World Heritage site as their location. Most recent locations include those used in the very popular Netflix series, The Crown, where college buildings stood in for Buckingham Palace. Disney’s recent film, Cruella (2021) also made good use of the site grounds in this recent production. One of the earliest films included in the tours is Indiscreet, which was filmed in the Painted Hall in 1958 and starred Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. The Film and TV Location Tour includes indoor and outdoor locations such as the Chapel, the Painted Hall and the Thames-side setting. Popular features of the tour include behind the scenes stories and insights on the tricks used in productions.
